With my first son I was dilated 2cm from 30 weeks until he finally came at 40+1. With my second, I was dilated 1.5-2cm my entire pregnancy and at 4cm at 34 weeks exactly. Two days later my water broke and he was born at 34+2 and spent 3 weeks in the NICU. This time I'm 2cm dilated again at 16 weeks and praying I don't have another preemie.

I wasn't dilated at all until 37 weeks and only then was 1cm. Now I'm 39 weeks and dilated to a 3.

I was checked Thursday and was 35 weeks exactly and I am 2 cm dilated and my sons head is fully engaged and isnt moving anytime soon so idk I'd say anytime is when you can start to dilate
