Advice: can't conceive ?

Question

I am 23 years old, I have add irregular periods my whole life, I can go from having it every month to not having it for 3-4 months or longer. I am trying to conceive and no luck. With me not having my period does this effect me ovulating and conceiving and if so what should I do. Please respond any advice will help also if you are going through the same sisuation Thank you

Talk to your doctor. You could have a condition like PCOS.

For many years, I had this problem. Heres my 'short story' Lol.Since I was 11 years old I was always irregular and I would go 9 months w/o a period!! So anyways I was put on birth control to regulate my periods and it did work but got tired of them cause I would always forget to take them everyday so then I just stop. Then when I was 20 years old I meet my current SO ( been together 5 years) and we decided try to concieve but for 3 years of having unprotected sex, tracking my ovulation days, using pressed, vitex, nothing worked! I began to feel depressed so I went to my obgyn, & she explain to me that since I get on and off periods it will be hard for me to ovulate. So she recommend clomid. So I gave it a try for about 5 months & talk about hot flashes! BTW, in case you don't know, clomid is a medication that is suppose to help you ovulate but you need a prescription from your Dr. So anyways after 5 months of clomid failure, I literally gave up. The following month, I didn't take clomid and we had sex maybe once a week and BAM! Pregnant:) I'm currently 21 weeks...So idk if it was the last dose of clomid that helped or maybe I wasn't too focus on TTC that month and it just happened but my advice to you is if you been trying for awhile see you Dr because you never know maybe there is something out there for you! Btw, sorry if this was long😣 And good luck but don't stress it will happen when you least expect it😊

I used Vitex because I have the same issues and after 2 years is trying we FINALLY conceived and now I'm almost 12 weeks with our first baby!!

Try ovulation test!

Talk to your OB about TTC. My husband and I tried for a year with no luck so she tested his sperm count and checked to see if I was ovulating (turns out I wasn't always ovulating even with regular pds.). Insurance covered everything though

When I was 21 wasn't on any birth control I was married and having  fairly constant unprotected sex then one month I didn't get my period pregnancy tests were negative it never came for like two months got blood work it said negative.  Went to the doctor he just gave me 5 pils to start my period. It did, the period came and went and never came back. Went to a different doctor she put me on birth control, I took it for maybe a month (but I'm bad with pills) so I quit taking it and then I got pregnant the next month.

Hi, I'm in exactly the same position and the same age, is it just me or does your dr not take you seriously because your young? I had a scan and my ovaries are fine but I had blood tests and I have a low tolerance to my slightly high prolactin so it's not high enough to cause concern but high enough to stop me ovulating I started vitex last week so can't really comment yet but after 16 months I'm willing to give anything a go 😊

I use to have the same problem and now I have a dr who has finally diagnosed me with PCOS. I would go see your dr!

That was me at one point but now i have my 2 kids. Don't lose hope it can happen

Your still young so maybe try going on birth control for a year or two to regulate your periods and then try, if you're not in a rush? You might have PCOS though.
