Is it ok to date someone that you work with???🤔🙃

My name is Kenya and this is my boyfriend Kirkland☺️💕. We're both 20, and we both work at Ingles!! I'm a cashier and he works in the deli. I've NEVER dated someone I've worked with before😕. But we've been getting negative comments here and there about how we shouldn't date while working together😒. I trust him and he trusts me, and we're in love. If things take a turn for the worst (I hope they don't) then we can be adults about it and get over it. But for now I feel like we're headed towards a positive direction☺️💕. I mean that's all I feel that matters, as long as we're both happy, right??? What do you all think🤔🤔??

I was working for commission and my now fiancé was upper management. Things were fine in the beginning but then people started accusing him of doing me special favors (he wasn't). To keep the peace, I began working from home and eventually quit all together. It's difficult working for your SO. Maybe not as coworkers, but the manager/employee dynamic can be a struggle.

My SO & I worked together at OTB (On the border) when we first started dating. He was a food runner and did expo, I was Togo/host manager, we had the same hours, pulled doubles together, got off the same time. We were with each other all the time and never had an issue. I never really understood while people were always so against dating someone at work, as long as you are both mature about things I don't see an issue.

Me and my husband met at work we worked together for two years. We're still together now but both work in different careers it can work you're not always going to work there. Just because you work with your SO doesn't mean the relationship won't work. If you're happy then it shouldn't matter xx

Though my boyfriend and I will be working together in the same profession, I would never work with him at the same site as an early childhood educator. For placement? Possibly. As long as you know you two are on the same page and work professionally it shouldn't be bothered some 😊 working together isn't for everybody but if it works it works, best of luck!

You work in different departments, so that's fine. As long as you two don't hang out with each other on the clock and let the relationship interfere with your job, then there should be no problems that you're dating. A lot of people work with their SOs. 
The only time it's a problem is when one is the manager of the other, that's a big no no.
