Hand foot and mouth disease ????

All th re of my children have hand foot and mouth disease that they contracted from the school my ?? Is is this a virus that is harm to be around during early pregnancy I just found out this week that I am expecting baby #4 pls any advice is greatly appreciated

I'm kinda surprised at everyone saying it's not contagious?? I understood it was super contagious - both my kids just had it. If it's not contagious how does anyone ever get it? Seriously confused! 😖

It's actually called Coxsakie. It's super contagious but not serious at all! My kids have both had it twice! They only got it in their mouth, so they were very cranky for a few days with high fevers. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep them comfortable with Tylenol and warm baths if they have it on their body!

I debated saying this as I don't want to worry you. I caught it from my one year old. The blisters are contagious when they pop and I believe before the rash breaks out you are contagious as well (this is from memory so don't quote me). All I know is the only symptom I had was blisters and then a week or so later I miscarried. Not sure if that was the cause but just thought I'd say something so that others know it is something to avoid. I definitely get very nervous when I see children playing near my kids with rashes around their mouths. I'm sure you will be fine though. Another thing to say is I also miscarried a couple of months earlier so it could be unrelated.

I'd talk to your doctor, I got hand foot and mouth three years ago from my niece and my doctor was pregnant and was taking precautions when seeing me.  Better safe than sorry.

One of the guys in work has just been diagnosed with this too. I called my doc as I am 5+5weeks and he told me that it's not contagious and even if I were to get it, it's not harmful to the baby. Hope this helps xxx

My 4 children had it about 3 months ago i was told its is very contagious but that if adults contract it then the symptoms tend to be less severe. Im not sure about pregnancy may be something u need to talk to your dr about

Its not SUPPOSE to be passable to adults but it can happen.
