Where did you feel contractions?

I am 37 weeks and starting to question all sensations! 
Where do you actually feel contractions? In your whole stomach? At the top of the uterus? Like menstrual cramps? In your back? 
I realised I know what Braxton hicks are like - a tightening of the uterus, but not what contractions are actually like. Any descriptions would be appreciated.

With contractions 8/10 women it starts in your back and wraps around your front going from either top to bottom of abdomen or bottom to top of abdomen but does normally start in your back, they will get closer together, last longer and intensify as time goes on. They won't go off or die down with pain relief, water, hot bath or changing positions :)
