Do babies get eye boogers??

Just worried if my new born gets eye boogers or if it's puss. Is this normal??

My baby got a clogged tear duct in her right eye and would wake up with it crusted shut or an eye booger. When she wa awake that eye will run or look watery. My doctor recommended massaging the corner of her eye by her nose in circles both directions 6-8 times per day with clean pinky. Wipe eye clean with warm washcloth. It has been helping a lot and I only have to clean it and massage it once or twice per day now. The doctor said she'll grow out of it!
