Should you no longer try to contact your ex's family if you two are no longer together?

My husband's last gf (dated just over a year) is still friends with his family. Does drive me nuts.. They have no kids at all. She uses them to stalk me and our life. Used to piss me off but now I'm just sad for her. We are expecting our first son next month, and if she needs to constantly watch our every move, so be it.

It depends on the relationship you have with the person and if kids are involved.  I sometimes speak to my brother's ex 15 years after they split.  She is the mother of my niece and is therefore my family.

No necessarily. I still talk to my ex's family. I like them. And they like me.

It depends on the relationship and the length of the relationship. I still have occasional (fb) conversations with my ex's sister. We were together for 6 years and she and I were good friends. It certainly changed our relationship, but we are still cordial and friendly.

It might seem ok to stay in touch at the beginning but a lot changes as time goes on. As you and your ex find new partners  it can be very frustrating when relationships  are kept. Would  you want your family maintaining contact  with your ex after you've moved on?

I voted no, even though i don't have an ex where i was close with their family. I barely knew the families of my exes. But I don't see the problem. If your close with their families, then nobody has the right to tell you to abandon your support system/friends.
