What do I do?

My doctor refused to give me birth control today. He says I don't need it if I'm not stupid. I understand using condoms and I don't have sex often, but that's not the point. I'm 18, I don't understand how he can refuse to give me something like that. It's better to be safe than sorry, if you know what I mean.

He can't refuse, it's your choice. If there's nothing medically preventing you from taking it he's required to give it to you. Most doctors, even if you're under 18, if you go to them asking for BC they have to give it to you no questions asked. I would find a new doctor.

Unless he had a really good reason for not giving you the pill, he shouldn't have refused you of it. Condoms aren't 100% effective (neither is BC) but, both together is double the protection and it's safer (a lot harder to become pregnant). If you want them, that's up to you. He has no right to tell you no, unless he has a legit reason as to why you shouldn't take them.

Go and see another doctor Hun . I really don't see how he could justify not giving you birth control . And you're 18 it's not as if you are too young to be on birth control .

I would switch doctors, that's very unprofessional. Was there a medical reason he declined because of? I know for he pill you have to get your blood pressure checked. But you have the right to birth control, if he doesn't give it to you go to a different doc.

I would call and complain first!! 
Then go find another doctor. But this one definitely needs to know what he did was NOT professional or something a medical professional should do!
