Keep trying or give up?

Me and my boyfriend of almost 2 years broke up recently and it was a mutual break up. We still talk and act like we are dating but everytime I ask if we are going to get back together or not he just says "I don't know yet". At the end of May I might be moving out of state and I know long distant relationships are hard to handle. But I don't know if I should continue trying to be with him, or give up and start working on moving on.
