No one likes our name

We have chosen the name Caoimhe (pronounced Kee-va) for our baby girl. My family have made very negative comments.  I can understand their concern -that this name is difficult to pronounce with the Irish- Gaelic spelling and may cause misunderstanding for those who aren't familiar, however we love this spelling and it doesnt have the same appeal to us when changed to a phonetic spelling .I'm most upset with a certain close family member who has openly said that she will name our daughter by a chosen nickname as she hates it so much! Both myself and my husband are really hurt and angry with their comments so much that we are beginning to reconsider our choice :(
