Can we drink wine if we are diabetic, if yes how many glasses?

Okay, the other commenter does not know what they are talking about. Many wines are very low carb per 5 oz serving. Try to stick to dry wine options - they typically have between 3-5 carbs per serving.

Beers and sugar-filled mixed drinks (daiquiris, margaritas, sangrias, etc) ARE very high in sugar, so try to avoid those.

Good options are liquors (rum, tequila, vodka, whiskey), as most have 0 carbs. Then all you have to worry about is your mixer - diet sodas, seltzer, etc. are all good options. Stay away from sugary options like amaretto, Kahlua, etc.

Did you say that you're a type 1? You need to be very careful while drinking, especially since you use insulin. Alcohol can do weird things to your blood sugar (usually strangely lowering it). I would suggest measuring your sugars frequently during and after drinking. I am a type 2 who has been on insulin in the past, so I do have personal experience with this.
