3D ultrasound at 17 weeks ?

Question

I'm having a hard time trying to debate if I should get a 3D ultrasound done because I really want to know the gender of my baby an I don't see my doctor till I'm 19 weeks and then is when I will be schedule for the anatomy of the baby an I don't think I can wait that long . Is it worth it all the places I called say it's $99 , I don't think that is too bad of a price . What do you guys think , has anyone gotten it done yet. I need HELP should I wait or not ?

There's a higher chance of it being wrong at 17 weeks. It's not always perfect and a lot of the people that preform these elective ultrasounds aren't even certified to perform them. They're just trained to look for "3 lines" or a "turtle" 😒 This also increases the odds of them being incorrect. As a certified medical sonographer I can tell you it's best to wait and have a person that knows what they're doing do your ultrasound. 
Before you spend the money I would call the place and ask if they are ARDMS certified in OB/Gyn. If not, bye Felicia 👋 😉

Honestly I would probably do it if I was in that situation. Only because at the elective place by me a 3D is $200 so $99 isn't that bad. With my daughter we had a 3D one done at 34 weeks and it was amazing. I'm not sure what they look like at 17 weeks though.
