Nice people still do exist
My faith in humanity was restored a few days ago. After suffering from the flu since early Monday morning, I went to the doctor Tuesday afternoon to have it confirmed. Sat in a waiting room for an hour and a half with almost a 103 degree fever feeling terrible, had a nasal swab done, tested positive for the flu. Went to Walgreens to pick up Tamiflu. Waited there for nearly two hours--still feeling awful--only for insurance to cover $30 of it. Ended up having to pay $133 for the pills, which was going to cause my hubby and I to overdraft with all of our other bills coming out this month. Went to the bank in a huff, waited for ages behind a lady in the drive thru teller, returned to Walgreens and bought the meds.
While leaving Walgreens, a guy pulled into my blind spot and I didn't see his vehicle while backing up. Heard the crunch, though, and stopped and got out. On the verge of tears, I apologized profusely to the elderly man. He told me it was no problem and surveyed the damage to our vehicles. Thankfully there appeared to be none. He could of been an ass--could have found something wrong--but instead he patted me on the back, said that was the good thing about plastic, and told me to go on my way.
That one act of kindness made my whole day. Just wanted to share and remind everyone that yes, there are bad people in this world but good still exists. Have a great day and don't forget to pay it forward!! 😊
