One and done?

Question

Anyone decided they will be an one child family? I have a chromosome disease and the only was to have a healthy baby is through IVF- with PGS ( genetic testing). It will cost us around 30,000!! We dont have that money. Ive been feeling very down, thinking that I failed my son. We had a missed miscarriage in 2010 around 22 weeks then he was born in 2011 and we had another one in 2015 around 15 weeks. I feel like our family is not complete.

Definitely only want to have one. I didn't like being pregnant at all. It wasn't a hard pregnancy, I just didn't like it. And this newborn period is so hard, particularly since we live so far from family and I have no help until my husband gets home from work. Just no way I ever want to do this ever again. My son is perfection anyway, so why mess with perfection ? 😁😍

I only plan on one. I'm 34 and pregnant with my first now. I am an only child and its not a bad thing.

We have had so many complications this pregnancy that we are thinking of adoption for our second. I'm not sure I can handle this much roller coaster again.

We have our own personal reasons for only having one but we are very happy with our decision, our daughter is our whole world and always will be

We just had our daughter on 2/27. My husband already has a son from a previous relationship. If we had had a boy, I might have tried for a girl, but as I am 35, I think we're done.

We will probably only have one. My hubs only wants one and our 5 week old is pretty colicky so I doubt he will decide he wants a second one. 😢

Kim, you and your SO will have to make that decision together. I am sure you both love your son more than anything in this world! I personally don't think that having only one child is the worst thing in the world. But you both have to make your own decision. Best of luck!
