Menstrual type cramping and back pain?

For the last hour, I've been having menstrual type cramping in my lower abdomen and bacj pain,  it comes and goes,  it's hurts and uncomfortable,  I'm 38 weeks pregnant,  is this normal?  I never had the contractions with my son, so I feel stupid for even asking. I'm at work right now, should I go to the hospital?

I would start timing them. They need to be 2-3 minutes apart and last 60-90 seconds. You are definitely having contractions.

Drink some water and see if shifting positions helps...if they're still going strong and you can time them I assume those are contractions.

I've had bad cramping for the past week and a half. Nothing consistent though to be considered contractions. They don't come and go here just constant for several hours at a time. If yours come and go start timing them. If they're constant, it's probably just you're body preparing. Try to drink a lot of water. That'll probably be the first thing they say if u call. So try that first and if you're still not sure just call ur Drs and ask!

So I just went to hospital for this I'm 40wks & 5days. They sent me home, just told me its my body progressing for labor. Bad cramps & dull back pain have been my energy for like a week now and no one can explain why. 😭

Ive experienced kind of a dull lower backache since last night and some random period like cramping in lower abdomen. It was mostly when I was laying in bed this morning. Not consistent or strong enough for me to be worried. It stopped when I got up and was out and about for my day so far. My back still remains a bit achey. We will see how the next day or two goes. Im wondering if you can still get growing/stretching pains at this time? Like my backache might be just due to baby still growing and Im finally at the point where it hurts. Im 38.5 today.

When in doubt call your doctor. I had symptoms like that and my second was born an hour and 20 minutes after. Good luck!
