Stripping Membranes?

Question

Do you guys think if I asked my doctor to strip my membranes if she maybe would? I'll be 39 weeks and 4 days when I go to my appointment. Also does anyone have any experiences with getting their membranes stripped? Thank you guys:)

I got mine stepped at 39+2. Stood up after getting it done and my water broke!

I had mine stripped at 37weeks at 1cm then again at 38&39weeks at 3cm and went into labor in the early  morning after my appointment.  Planning to do it again this time around dr said as soon as i hit 1cm dialated we can do it again

I think so. But they can't unless your at least dilated to a 1. At least that's what my doctor told me.

That's definitely something you guys could discuss! I was 40+3 when I had my membranes stripped, but still didn't go into labor until 41wks. Every experience is different, but during the procedure I felt a lot of pressure (very uncomfortable) and some strong cramping afterwards.
