Allergic to birth control?

Have there been any cases where a woman is allergic to birth control?

Answer

Maybe a specific ingredient in birth control, but definitely not the actual hormones in birth control that prevent pregnancy, considering you have those in your body already.

I've had adverse reactions because it's made my bipolar worse but that's not an allergy

I'm allergic to synthetic estrogen.  When I was on the pill, I was getting migraines, dizzy, and something called "brain zaps" and I started fainting. I ended up going to the hospital for tests and it was causing swelling in my brain. I had to switch to the copper iud for awhile which unfortunately gave me heavier periods.
