Cribs and crib mattress!?

Maybe a stupid question but are all standard cribs and crib mattresses like a standard size! If j get a crip from Ikea a mattress from target will fit right? Also how small is a mini crib, will my child last until one years in it!

Personally, I thought that buying a 4-in-1 was the Best Buy. It's a regular size crib and as she got older, I was able to turn it into. Toddler bed. Now my daughter is 3 and her toddler bed has turned into a queen sized bed. All those beds came from 1 little crib. Just good for thought.

Sizes do vary depending on the brands. If you bought from ikea it should tell you what the mattress size is and you can buy a mattress with those measurements wherever you like.

My parents used a mini crib eith my sister till I think she was almost 2... then she went into a regular bed. I'm not sure about the mattresses being universal to cribs. I hope the mattress I kept from my son works with the Ikea crib I want to get because it's a good mattress.

And not sure what a mini crib is.. Like a portable crib/bassinet? I would say it's probably not worth the extra investment since you can use a bassinet or pack n play for the first few months and the crib has two different highly adjustable levels usually. Hope this helps.

As far as IKEA goes I know their changing tables run on the small side but our crib fits a normal crib mattress from buy buy baby. 😊
