what would you do

Question

Recently out of the blue my husband decided he was going to quit his high paying job and move us from California to utah... literally 2 week notice. 
We can't find a home there and he still just wants to go and see what happens.
He says we will stay with his family until we can find jobs and and a place. 
He doesn't think it's a big deal because I don't have a job here, but what he doesn't realize is his good job here was supporting us and now we are about to have nothing.
We currently live in my hometown and I have a ton of friends and family here.. and we are going to be moving to his hometown and it will be the complete opposite. 
I was upset at first and told him I wasn't going.. but obviously you don't just give up on a marriage because your husband wants a new start.

Ahhhh I just don't know.
What would you do? :(

He really should have talked to you first before acting on such a major decision.  I would go with him, but have a serious talk about the need to be involved in major life changes in the future.

How in the world does he get off making all these big decisions without talking to you and getting your thoughts on all this??? Sounds extremely disrespectful and quite controlling if you ask me. 😳 How does your opinion on the situation not matter?!

I know exactly how you feel!! My husband had to find a new job and in my small hometown there weren't any, so we had to move an hour away from my family & friends & move in with his mother and it was awful!!! I barely made it a year, I was about to leave bc he literally wasn't even trying to get us moved out of his moms house & it was a tiny 3 bedroom trialer... But thankfully now, he found a good job and we moved out a year ago & are now expecting a baby in October and have our own place again. I know it'll be rough for you, I'd try to talk him out of it unless he has a for sure plan... But if you do move, I wish you the best of luck!! Hopefully your family & friends will come visit you.💕

Well, I actually moved from Illinois to South Carolina for my fiancé. I don't know anyone here but my soon to be MIL. I love it out here though. I was REALLY nervous about it but it turned out to be the best thing for our relationship. It's unbelievably scary at first but just try to have an open mind at first. It may not be so bad. He could find a better job. But then again I moved from a lame, crappy state to a beautiful, fun state and idk how Utah is. You'll never know unless you try.

I wouldn't be happy if he just up and left a job without preparing you guys. We just moved from Cali to Idaho leaving family friends, church, our normal and I'm not loving it here. We moved for a job and to be able to save money and pay of debts and eventually buy a house. In Cali that was pretty much I reachable. We lived but there wasn't a lot of extras or fun family activities. I miss Cali terribly though.

I'd stay with family until he got his act together. There's no way I'd be letting a man say where I was going to live with out telling me about it way ahead of time. Then again, I'd also be mad enough to get divorced....

Utah is SOOOOO MUCH CHEAPER to live than California. If you're worried about money it really won't be nearly as bad as you think even if he makes less. The cost of living is so much cheaper. Moving from your hometown will suck but it may be a growing experience for you and your family. If you hate it you can always come back but it really is worth giving it a shot. especially if it's important to your husband.
