Dp/Dr is caused from severe anxiety and emotional trauma...you feel like life is fake...your surroundings look 2D and cartoonish... you feel numb and you feel as if the world and the people in it are fake :)

I experience a mild form of this as a symptom of having generalized anxiety disorder, but it gets really bad during panic attacks or when I smoke 🌲 Does anyone else have really bad trips like this? Feels like I'm the only one of my friends who can't have a good high.

For me, it feels like the world takes on this glow and I become almost comically giddy. (Like I had a few drinks)

I don't feel physically attached to my body although rationally I know I am. And I laugh at everything, even if what I'm saying is disturbingly traumatic to the person I'm talking to.

Freaked my doctor out when i tried to explain this to her, sue asked if I was scitzophrenic and if I ever heard voices. The answer was obviously no.

I have bipolar disorder and depersonalization is something that is attached to my illness for me. I've been through things in my life that were very serious that at the time some of those things happened I felt like I was outside of my own body watching those things happen to myself and feeling it but detaching it happening to me if that makes sense. Depersonalization or dissociation for me is almost like watching my life as a movie I see my myself moving around and I watch my self experiencing things it's really strange but that's kind of what it feels like to go through depersonalization or another word for it is dissociative disorder. There's a lot more to it that was me being brief on it

Experienced this a lot in high school due to severe untreated depression. I have gaps in my memeory from this time where I have no clear memories of my life, weeks and days that melted into nothing. 
I have moments once and a while now in college and I have to push myself to be present.

I occasionally experience derealization. Didn't know there was a term for it. I always thought it was extreme day dreaming.

YES usually it's mild but when I'm upset or angry I don't even feel real
