Have a history of large babies and shoulder dystocia so my doctor has been talking about inducing me next Wednesday and I'll be 39 weeks and 6 days. But now she's saying if I'm not dilated more than I am now (1cm) by monday she's making me wait until after 41 weeks. My son was 10 1/2 pounds and I'm not ready to have another big baby like that and I don't want to have a csection. How can she say she's not going to induce me now if I'm not dilating more? I thought the point of induction was to start things up. Do you have to be so far before being induced?
