Pulsing in neck??

Question

Whenever I lay down I can feel a really hard pulsing in my neck from my carotid artery (mostly on the right side). Does anyone else get this? Is it just from the extra blood flow? It's pulsing so hard I can feel my neck moving, really strange!

It's your blood flowing through your carotid vessles (they take blood to your head). When standing your body has to adjust the tightness of the vessles in your body so you can keep the pressure up to your head and all your blood doesn't end up in your feet. When you lay down, all of the sudden the blood doesn't have to fight gravity. It takes a few minutes for your body to adjust the vessles to your new position.
