Yes why not? It tells you if you are high risk or low risk for chromosomal birth defects. If you come back high-risk you can then choose to have an amniocentesis. If you are low risk, you can pretty much skip that. I was very glad to have it because my partner and I are both older and we were both concerned. It put our mind at ease completely.

It gave us peace of mind in knowing what to expect or not to expect.  It also let us know what color clothes to purchase!!!
