Is anyone waiting longer than 12 weeks to announce?

My husband and I are a bit indecisive about this, and I was curious to know this board's opinion. I'm currently 9w5d, due Oct 7th. The only people who know I'm pregnant right now are my health care providers, my husband, my manager at work (due to work duties, planning, and so I can flex my schedule around not feeling well), random strangers online 😀, and my hair stylist (who guessed when I didn't get my hair colored at my appointment last week).

My history: this is our first pregnancy, we don't have a history of MC, but it took us 6 years to conceive naturally. I'm 33,overweight ,and have PCOS. While we don't have a MC history, both of our moms do.

We are planning on telling our parents and siblings the first weekend in April (13w)...but due to a couple individuals in our family, I think that means that even if we request not to spread the news, the rest of our VERY LARGE families will know by the end of the week.

We are torn about when to tell our coworkers (who most tend to be friends too) and when to make the Facebook announcement (that will for sure inform everyone in our large families). I'm so afraid of announcing, and then something happening to the baby. But at the same time, I'm also afraid of some close family members or friends finding out third hand through gossipers. Because of cross contamination between work and Facebook (coworkers as friends), that announcement will basically need to be timed on the same day...

So basically announce to everyone at 13 weeks...vs Just tell my parents at 13w & wait a few more weeks before telling anyone else (they are great secret keepers & I NEED to be able to talk to my mom about this, keeping the secret is killing me),
