Is he still in love with her?

A few days ago my partner asked me to reply to a message from his sister via Facebook. While I was scrolling through to find her message I saw that he'd messaged his ex girlfriend.

It was an innocent enough message and just said Hi but he's been asking a couple of mutual friends about his ex lately too.

Apart from this we have a good relationship and this is the first sign somethings wrong. My best friend said I was being paranoid and I'd end up ruining the relationship. Am I just being paranoid about it? or could he still have feelings for her?

Well I feel like he wouldn't have given you his phone if he had anything to hide. I occasionally message my ex to see how he's doing. Being said I don't message others to check on him.

Ask him! Otherwise you'll keep speculating and start looking for things that may not be there. You'll drive yourself crazy.

It's probably nothing, but why does your SO feel the need to message his ex? To ask how she is doing or not, that's a past relationship. No reason why your SO should ask her. She's not his problem, anymore.

I still talk to some of my ex's but I tell them now happy I am with my husband. He knows. Doesn't care because at the end of the day I'm still his wife and still coming home to him. And I am not flirting or being inappropriate or anything. So he has nothing to worry about. But every man is different. Trust your gut.

I would ask him, there should be no reason to be asking about her and sounds like it could be a start of something but I would find out first before I would over think it.

Hmmmm I think your right to be suspicious. I wouldn't be happy if it where me, his ex is none of his business. Also, the fact that your gut must be telling you something means your spot on. I'd casually mention it, you will know by the look on his face if he's lying.

Just straight up ask him. To me it sounds innocent enough but if you ask him and get a funky response then you'll know for sure. I feel like he would not have given you his phone if there was something up. I think it might just be all in your head and it's best to squash it now before it gets worse.

There should be no reason why he should be concerned about his ex . Your ex needs to be left in the past. That's why it's an ex. If he's asking about her then 9 times out of 10 he most likely still has some type of feelings for her .
