Planned parenthood does provide free birth control options. But in my opinion you are growing and most likely your body is going through many changes. So I feel like condoms or the pill are the best options. The only tricky thing about the pill is that you have to remember to take it everyday at the same time. If you feel like you can do that, then do it. A condom is easy to use and it is safe. Also it can prevent most STIs and STDs.

I like the patch because you only have to change it once a week for 3 weeks and then fourth week is no patch. Much easier to use than the pill. But I would still use condoms too because birth control isn't always 100%! Good luck (:

If you are concerned about weight gain I do not recommend the shot as once it is in your system for 3 months whatever side effects you have you have to deal with. I would try the pills first as they are non-envasive and not at all permanent, if they are not the right choice for you you can discontinue immediately. That will also give you a chance to see how you react to estrogen based contraceptives. I for example cannot take any form of birth control with an estrogen base, so now I take the progesterone only pills. I would definitely start at the pills and go from there!
