What do you think of the name "Theory"

That's what we are naming our Daughter. As it's something I've never seen before, I thought I'd see how people like it ❤️

I think it sounds fine but I'm not sure I'm crazy about the meaning. On the one hand, it's kind of cool because it speaks to limitless possibilities. On the other hand, theories are often unfinished or unproven, they can be good or bad.  Conceptually, theories are kind of neutral from an intellectual standpoint.  I mean, it isn't that different from naming her "Concept" or "Idea."  Very open ended.  I kind of dig the hippie stuff these days but yeah, it is definitely different.

On a less philosophical note, Theory is also a brand of clothing (a nice brand but still).

i live and work in china and people here give their kids the craziest names. just some of my students' names were: dolphin, snow, rain, rainbow, snake, tiger, brain, origin, smart... generally, i don't like those kind of names, but it's just how i feel. we all want the best for our kids, and i cannot imagine a CEO of a big company or a respectable doctor with a name like that. but it's your kd, your choice.
