Diva cups...

Danielle
So I brought up the conversation with my partner about possibly switching to a diva cup instead of pads. The more I read about them the better they sound. Although he thinks is gross and disgusting and would rather me just continue with pads. He does also say it's ultimately my choice but I don't want him to think of me that way. I'm not sure why he would though 😞 does anyone else have any views on this? Do any other partners not like the idea of tampax or diva cups? I'm just not sure why this is such an issue to him 😢

I've never even considered asking my partner about his preferences for my menstrual hygiene. I'm so sorry your partner is judgmental about cups, though! I love my Diva cup (eco-friendly, reusable, etc.), and highly recommend that you get one! As for your partner, I hope he examines his menstrual stigma and period shame. Good luck!

I think pads are more gross but I'm good with  tampons. I've never asked my husband what he thinks about my feminine hygiene products lmao

I think it's wonderful that he said it was ultimately your choice...he gave you an opinion that he felt like you asked for...but made the decision up to you...what a wonderful partner!

Tell him that the thought of him pooping really grosses you out, but if he's going to insist on doing it, you'd like to examine his wiping technique. You know, just to make sure his hygiene habits meet your standards.

I have the Lena cup and I LOVE it. I just started using it on my last cycle and I will never ever go back to tamps or pads. I had NO leaks (not even once!!!!), it was very easy to put in/take out (after I got the hang of it, there's def a learning curve as expected), I couldn't even feel it hardly and the cleanup after taking it out for so many hours was WAY cleaner than using pads or tampons. My Lena cup is literally a god-send. I won't ever go back!!! And honestly, your S/O doesn't have to bear having a period, so his opinion about what you use to manage yours is kinda irrelevant!! After I got and used mine for one cycle, I couldn't shut up to my Husband about it, and he's happy as hell for me! Pads and tampons carry a lot of chemicals too, and you don't have to worry about that with cups. They are safer, cleaner, better for the environment, save you money, and all around just freaking wonderful!! Try it, you won't be disappointed!!

I've never considered amazing my husband what he would like me to use. It's my body and I'm the one that has to deal with it. Personally I'd never use pads unless I have to, I won't even use panty liners unless it's absolutely necessary. I think they create a smell that everyone around you can smell. I use tampons mainly bc they are easy, efficient, and have relatively no odor. I have Also used the diva cup. It causes me anxiety though bc getting it out is tricky.

I totally agree about the smell. Pads are gross

I think pads are grosser and bulky. They can even give you diaper rash. I always felt like I reeked when wearing pads. Switched to cup and no smell, no bleed through, no moving my leg and suddenly leaking blood.Tell him not to think about it. It's the same level of gross if anything.

DivaCup user here, I switched b/c of horrible cramps that nearly had me fainting while I used tampons, pads tend to give me UTIs no matter how often I changed and I also disliked the thought of sitting in my own blood... Anyway so I've been using it for 4 months and my cramps have nearly disappeared, no leakage while sleeping and handling is not that gross either. He should get over himself, it's your body and you should decide what to do. Periods do tend to be part of having a hooha 🤘🏻

He'll never see a dirty cup. You'll always clean it in the bathroom and yeah, sometimes you get a bit on your hands. But you wash it off before you leave. Has he even seen one of your used pads? Smelled the frickin horrible smell?! Because that'll never happen.Tell him that the day he starts to bleed out of his penis is the day he gets a say as to how it's dealt with.

I've never even thought about asking for my husbands opinion on what hygiene products to use since it's not his body. But I have been thinking about trying a diva cup, I have heard really good things about them plus they save Money.
