Misdiagnosed Blighted Ovum Chances?

Question

So on Wednesday I was 7 weeks 4 days. My gestational sac measured correctly but no baby. I still have positive pregnancy tests and I had high HCG levels. I also have a tilted uterus.

I still have all my pregnancy symptoms plus a new one, acne everywhere on my chin, chest and back. Could they have misdiagnosed me? Today I am supposed to be 8 weeks. I have no bleeding/spotting and no cramps.

This Wednesday they will do 1 more ultrasound at my request and then a D&C on Friday.

Any chance they could of misdiagnosed me? Maybe since my uterus is tilted, my baby was hiding?

I know I shouldn't get my hopes up but it's hard when I still feel so pregnant.

How did it turn out? I’m i this same boat right now. With all the same above symptoms. Did it turn out to be a misdiagnosed blighted ovum?

My first mc was a blighted ovum. My body didn't register before i was around week 12. I had light spotting and went to get an US and there was nothing there it was one week before my first US. And I felt pregnant with all the symptoms. I first stopped feeling pregnant after my D&C.
I hope your misdiagnosed but I would not get my hopes to high. So sorry you have to go trough this.

Hey hun, I'm so sorry you have to go through this scary situation. My first pregnancy, when I went for an ultrasound they said they could see no baby and told me I had to get a D&C. I was 10 weeks and wouldn't believe it. I got a second opinion because I had an intuition that I have a tilted uterus, and I was right. They had to do a transvaginal US and did find the baby, but not a heartbeat. It was only measuring 6/7 weeks, which is still small. I've read numerous stories where the baby, and its heartbeat, weren't found until several weeks later when the baby was obviously much larger.

Your uterus could be hiding the baby and it could possibly not be seen from the outside, but in my case my body didn't know what had happened for about a month before I naturally miscarried. You have the right to a second opinion, a transvaginal ultrasound, and even to not undergo the D&C until you're absolutely sure or, if your health is not at risk, to miscarry naturally. Whatever your wish is, but my prayer is that your baby is totally fine and just tucked away safe in your womb. :)

This happened to me at 10 weeks. I have a tilted uterus and they had to end up doing a transvaginal ultrasound. There was a sac measuring 8 weeks but i was 10 weeks along since my last period. They told me it was probably a blighted ovum,and to come back the nexy week for another ultrasound. I did, but after that first appointment on Thursdag I naturally miscarried that Saturday. My next appointment was that next thursday and everything had passed,and lookrd clear. I was hopefully that something would be there when i went back but glad my body took care of,itself. Hopeful to tru again later this year.

I know this is an old post but did any of you have a very large amount of vaginal discharge with your BO? More mucous-y than creamy?

I have a tilted uterus too. Got my first scan around 8 weeks and the sac was measuring at 5. They couldn't see anything inside the sac, looked like a blighted ovum. I went back the following week and still measuring the same and no baby/yolk. I was going to wait one more week before taking medication to induce... But miscarried naturally. 
It helped me a lot during the miscarriage to know I didn't have to pass a baby... Just a sac/the lining.

I had the same thing at 6 weeks with all the same pregnancy symptoms, I also have a titled uterus so went back for two repeat scans to be sure and still nothing it is so hard not to get your hopes up when waiting as there are some positive outcomes. It's so hard as your body still feels pregnant I am 2 months on as tried to pass naturally but my body still believed I was pregnant so had to have a d&c last week to get out final tissue. I really hope your outcome is a happier one, but know what your going through and it's tough, try to stay positive as that's what's helping me get through xx

I have seen others say that that was the case for them, but everyone is so different. I've never experienced blighted ovum myself, but I pray your LO is hiding. Just found out yesterday for sure my LO is gone, no heart beat or growth after 5w6d, and know how devastating it is. Even if a baby didn't form, I'm sure it is still a very heart breaking thing to think there is a baby when in fact there isn't. Good luck.

Very unusual at over 7 weeks to not see anything. If my your next ultrasound there is still nothing visable then I'd definitely agree with the diagnosis. I was 6 weeks when something similar happened, and it showed up 3 days later. Unfortunately ended in miscarriage anyway. Symptoms still occur if you are still creating HCG. Especially if they are high.
