Premature Birth Question!
Hey Y'all!
I recently found out that I am 4 weeks pregnant! I am so excited as I have PCOS and trying to get pregnant this past year was somewhat of a struggle. So, I am ecstatic that Metformin, Clomid, and the Trigger Shot worked! I am so thankful!
So, I realize that this is waaaaay down the road but I have a question! When I was born (in 1986) I was born at 25.5 weeks and weighed 1 pound 10 oz. I had a twin brother but he passed away 3 days after we were born (he actually came out first and weighed less than me when we first entered the world). Anyway, this is something that's always been in the back of my mind about trying to get pregnant and my current pregnancy. My mom had me and my sister early (my sister was born before me and a month early) and my sister had my niece a month early. So, according to our family history I was definiltly the most premature. I'm very active and physically fit. I'm 5'1", 117 pounds, have ran 10 Half Marathons in the past two years and one Full Marathon, play soccer, and do Boot Camp. I'm hoping to stay active throughout this pregnancy but am so scared of delivering early. Is having a preemie baby genetic? Does anyone know any information about if you were a premature baby that means you'll have a premature baby? I will ask my doctor these questions as well I'm just curious if anyone had any advice! Thanks so much!
