IUD birth control

Just wanted to let some ladies know about my recent experience with the IUD. I was previously on the shot and thought this wouldn't be a bad idea. Initially, it did not hurt to get placed. However, the cramps afterwards are almost unbearable. I thought I was going to be ok but then it started hurting worse and worse. I threw up!!! Not to scare anyone but just sharing my experience so you can know some of the possible symptoms. Also, any ladies that do have the IUD, about how long did the cramps last?
