Would you let a friend borrow your car?
So my friend just returned to school last month. She's a mom of 2, and I'm so proud of her balancing it all. Yesterday her car broke down and it's pretty much not going to work again. Her SO father has offered her to use his car but it's a manual/stick shift so now she's taking driving lessons.
Well the days she have school my car just sits in the drive way. So I thought about offering her to use my car on her school days only (there's no public transit near her school) for a couple weeks while she's getting lessons to drive a manual car. I trust her (known her for 2.5 years), and she's responsible, but I've never let someone borrow my car before. It's an older car, 2009, so not brand new. I'm worried but not eh it'll only be a couple days for 2 weeks at most. Her school is about a 45 minute drive. Nothing long term. I'm adding her onto my car insurance temporarily. So should I be a good friend and let her use it or no? Also should I write up a contract stating that she is liable for any damages (excess and whatever insurance won't cover) if an accident was to occur?
