Has the military beaten me down or made me learn to be stronger?
This is my first year and half of being in the military. My first base happened to be overseas. I've struggled and battled anxiety and depression for ages and the strain can be too much sometimes. I've gotten great at pretending to be happy that sometimes I think I am. But it always creeps back. I have a huge stress load right now from work, working with predominately men, studies I must do to learn my job, and dealing with female body issues such as ovarian cysts. I would never say I regret joining but my faith and hope is running low. I just miss my home, my mom, my sisters, and my best friends. I feel like I took them for granted. It's rare to come by genuine and kind people like the ones I found back home. My emotions are everywhere and my anxiety is at its most extreme. If anyone could leave me words of encouragement, motivation, or advice on dealing with stress, people putting you down and losing self confidence I could really use it right now 😞
