Does he just not care about getting pregnant?

I am in a new relationship with a guy I truly respect and like. We've been having unprotected sex...a lot. He hasn't once asked about if I'm on birth control or not. And I'm not. With my medical condition, birth control causes me incredible amounts of pain. I am completely ok getting pregnant. I'm not sure if he is though. I am secretly wanting to get pregnant anyways.
