Best breast pump???

Which breast pumps do you mommas like and works best for you, I prefer an electric one? Thanks for any feed back.

I have both the medela freestyle and the spectra s2. They both have their strengths, but I prefer the s2.

I love that the freestyle has a rechargeable battery and is tiny so it is portable. I like to clip it to my pants and do housework with it on. It starts off in a massage mode then automatically switches to an expression mode after 2 minutes. there is a button you can press to get it back to the massage mode to encourage another let down at any time during your pumping session, however it will always automatically return to the expression mode. The freestyle also lets you control the strength of the vacuum. It does turn itself off after about 35 minutes in case you fall asleep or get distracted by multitasking. It isn't annoyingly loud, but it does wake my baby up if I use it near him.

The spectra s2 does not have a rechargeable battery, so you'll need to be stationed next to a plug with it. It is also considerably bigger than the freestyle.It is supposed to mimic the suckling of a baby as opposed to just sucking. I found it to be much more comfortable to use vs the freestyle and the medela symphony (I used the symphony in the hospital). I've also found that it empties my breast sooo much better than either of the medela ones I've used. This might be because the spectra allows me to control both the strength of the vacuum and the speed of the cycle at which it sucks your breast in massage mode, so you can really customize the pumping session to what is best for you. It doesn't automatically switch from massage mode to expression mode, there is a button you can press to toggle between the two. It has a night light which is extremely useful during the middle of the night pumps. It's also pretty quiet, it sounds like a cat purring so it doesn't wake anyone up when I use it in the middle of the night.

I heard great things about the spectra s2 and that is what i plan on getting. I have the medela pump in style and ameda. I liked the ameda better. Both worked okay.

I had an Ameda with my first and did not like it. It didn't work well with my body. Now, with my second, I have a Medela and LOVE it! I feel like I get so much more milk. With my Ameda, I'd pump for 30 mins and get maybe 2 oz combined breasts. With my Medela, I pump for 15 mins and get about 8-10 oz easily!

I got a medela from my hospital and I loved it. If you have insurance your hospital will likely give you one for free but you don't recieve a new one for 5 years I believe.
