Anyone else with a short cervix?

I went to the doctors yesterday as I am now 21 weeks today & learned that my cervix is shorter than expected. I'm pregnant with twins and my cervix is a little over 2 centimeters. My doctor has taken me out of work for a week starting today. I hoped to work as much as I could before the babies came July and definitely didn't plan to be taking days so soon. Any advice or anyone who has experienced this...what did you do and did it work? I really do not want to go into pre-term labor 😔

My cervix has been  1.2 cm since 20 weeks. Now 25+2 w/ twins. I had ptl and pprom last pregnancy and lost my baby at 21weeks. Diagnosed with incompetent cervix. This pregnancy im on home bed rest, progesterone supositorries, steroid injections for lung development last week, and I have a preventative cerclage. But my mfm says the cervix is stable and the stitch is doing its job.

Just went to perinatalogist and mine is 1.7cm and less than 2.5 is abnormal.  I am 26 weeks with twins. They sent me home on strict bed rest. No work, doing anything around the house, just laying on my side. Will recheck on Monday and if it gets any shorter they will admit me to the hospital.  So worried. I don't want the twins to come too early! Bummed that I have to started my leave of absence so soon since I wanted to take the 3 months off after the delivery. Hoping to hear other success stories of others who made it farther after bed rest. Apparently I was having periodic contractions and didn't know it. They described it as a ball of pressure on my stomach poking out. I thought that was just the babies stretching since it wasn't painful and my first pregnancy my daughter would stretch all the time. Hope  all goes well!

I'm 25 weeks with twins. Was diagnosed at 19 weeks with hardly no measurable cervix. They gave me an emergency cerclage and put me on strict bed rest. I also take weekly P17 shots to keep me from going into preterm labor. So far so good. Just given advice to you ladies....if your on doesn't want to help your situation, try going to a high risk on they would take an immediate precautions to help your cervix. Also if you ladies have a Fb please add Incompetent Cervix Awareness group. It is a lot of success stories from different women who went through the same thing and is very helpful with any questions you have. Good luck ladies and stay prayed up. We can all beat IC! :-)

My doctor informed me that my cervix was short also but they said in not in the danger zone yet so they have been just monitoring it every time I go to the doctors. I praying I won't have to go on bed rest eventually because I really want to work up until I go in. I asked them if I could do anything right now to help it and they said no.

My cervix is short, I have a Cerclage and in bed rest as much as possible I have a 3 yr old that I also had a Cerclage with!

I have had 3 Cerclage's due to incompetent cervix. My last 2 pregnancies I got by without them & at 17 weeks now with twins they are doing ultrasounds every 2 weeks to watch it. Don't lift anything heavy & NO squatting! Sex was also off limits for me with my first 3.

I found out at 20 weeks i have a short cervix, and I've had to go in every week since and it keeps getting shorter. My cervix is closed though as of yesterday. They put me on progesterone and that wasn't helping, so next week when I go back they're giving me a steroid shot and one the day after. I'm 23 weeks tomorrow.

Hello! Yes! I was 25 weeks when this occurred to me in February. My cervix thinned to 1.7cm, so they took me out of work and put me on bedrest. I have stuck to my strict bedrest, and have to use progesterone cream daily, and my cervix has improved up to 2.5cm, and I am now 29 weeks (almost 30 weeks) along with my twin boys! Yay! So, listen to your doctor and do whatever they say!
(I also had to have 2 steroid injections to speed up the progress of their lungs and organs at 25 weeks in the hospital "in case they came in 2 weeks, but they didn't :)

I got a call from my doc yesterday (on a Saturday so it freaked me out) to tell me she read my 21 week ultrasound and my cervix was at 2.9 and that I really need to take it easy and maybe try to get some help with my kids. If it gets to 2.5 they will put me on bed rest. I'm nervous Bc I have two young boys at home and it is really hard for me to take it easy and I don't know where I would find the help! I'm 23+2 weeks today.

I'm having mo/di identical girls. At 20 weeks my cervix was over 3 cm, at 22 weeks it went down to 1.75. However at my 23 week cervical ultrasound it had gone up to 2.5. I went back when I was 24 weeks and it's all the way down to 1 cm and the funneling is getting way worse. They are doing my next ultrasound for their weights and my cervix at 26 weeks. So I go next week and I'm very nervous! Our mfm is hoping we can make it to 28 weeks. I'm on strict bedrest at home and on the suppository every night. He said that I do have an incompetent cervix. With my 1 year old, I had a placental abruption which caused my preterm with her at 33 weeks.

Anyone else with a short cervix?
