I haven't and won't try, but my midwife says it doesn't and that instead you should go get a pedicure.

If you do it make sure the baby is ready . According to my hypnobirth teacher Castor oil should be the last resource for natural induction. If you do it make sure to get the right doses. You can also Try sex ( semen softens the cervix) nipple stimulation, accupunture, going up and down the stairs, walking, spicy food, dates, pineapple juice, prenatal yoga and if you want to start labor a 1 hour spinning class !
