Older toddlers coming to visit you in the hospital?

Our son just turned 5 and is so excited. Still not sure about him visiting in the hospital. I feel like he may break down when it's time to leave without us. He is normally not attached to both me and my husband but to leave us in the hospital I think will break his little heart. What to do? Not sure. My daughter was 10 when I had him so she was a lot more mature .

My mother will be staying with our daughter at our house. I plan on having her come visit while we're in the hospital.

I figure she probably will be upset when it's time to leave and go back home without us- but oh well! My mom can deal with it :) she'll get over it.

My son is  3 years old turning four on April 7 he did great at the hospital he visited me and his baby sister who is now (19 months) he didn't fight with me or anything he loved it and loved his baby sister and now I'm having another baby girl my son is excited but I'm not sure if my daughter is gonna be too excited cause she is still to young to understand fully what's going on .. But they r both coming with to the hospital the day of their sister's birth .

My oldest is 4 and my youngest is going to be 2 in August but my husband and I both agreed that it would be for the best if they didn't come to the hospital when the baby is born one I'm getting my tubes tied so I am going to be extra sore and that is probably the only time I will be able to enjoy the time with just my Husband and new baby.

My son was 5 when my second was born. He came into the room, met his sister and then left with my mom with no issues. I would think at 5 you could explain to him everything is good! At 6 I ended up in the hospital for kidney stones, Ecoli, kidney infection and UTI (no clue how they all hit at once) and my son did not handle that well bc he knew I was sick. The only reason he was there is bc hubby took me to ER and I got admitted.. My mom was on her way to pick up the kids it just all happened so fast bc I was so sick.

Can your husband leave with him? Maybe take him out to eat or something, then leave your son with babysitter or whoever, and then come back to you? It would be a gentle transition.

I always have my kids come visit ( this is my 4th) and the youngest is 2 and the oldest is 6 i have never had an issue with them crying when needing to leave. They seem to understand and i always talk to them about it before hand so they have time to process and ask questions

Our son will be 4 in July. I'll be induced sometime in May. We are allowing him to come visit. Only because my MIL and FIL will have him while my husband and I stay in the hospital. He absolutely adores my MIL (she spoils the shit out of him) so he will be fine with leaving mommy and daddy at the hospital. When he stays the night with them on the weekends, we get to their house to pick him up and he tells my husband and I to go away because he's not ready for leave Grammie.

My oldest was four and he did fine! I thought he would throw a fit time to leave but he didn't. Same the second time around when my second was 18 months old. He did good too. They were happy to see us and was happy to go!! Lol
