Incompetent cervix

It has been 3 weeks today since my water broke at home with no warning I was 22+4days. I was told I had incompetent cervix and was considered active labor. They could not stop it and our daughter Penelope Jean would be to young to survive. She was so perfect. This was our first child and pregnancy. We are so scared to try ever again with fear of this happening again. The doctor says we can try a cerclage. Does anyone have similar stories or success stories with a cerclage?
