Mastitis

K
I would like to share my story. Sorry for the gory picture. I had a hard painful boob, sore back, chills, and a fever. I waited to long to go to the er. I thought a warm rag and pumping would unclog the duct, but it was already turning worse by the day. The night my son was one month old I had to have surgery on my right breast. My skin was starting to turn black. They put me under and removed some of my breast. They couldn't drain it because the cavity was to deep. I had to heal from the inside out. I was hooked up to a wound vac for two months, I had to have a home health aid come in twice a week to change it. The material would dry to the inside of my tissue and they would have to pull it out. It was VERY painful. I was also planning a wedding, taking care of a one month old, breastfeeding 24/7, being a wife, cleaning the house. I was non stop. The reason I am sharing is because breastfeeding is hard, but it is also worth it. My son will be 1 in April he still breastfeeds. I am glad I didn't give up after all that pain. Now I have a scar to remind me of my breastfeeding journey. I would do it all over again for the bond me and my son share. :)
