So my sister is getting married (second wedding/husband) in the Florida Keys in mid-June. I will be approx. 4 months pregnant at that time. Many sources and studies predict that there is a "high" probably the Zika virus will spread to the South Florida area (including the keys) during the mosquito/rainy season, which is April to September, with the warmest and highest population of mosquitos in July-Aug. There are also several cases of women having babies infected with Zika during all trimesters of
pregnancy - so the "Zika only affects your baby during the first trimester" is no longer accurate. Knowing all of this, would you take the chance and go and hope mosquito procautions are enough? Would you not take the risk and skip the trip? Or would you wait it out/last minute to see if Zika does in fact spread there (even though eveyone seems to think it will)?
