Beach with a newborn??

My family has a vacation planned to go to myrtle beach the end of July I'm due June 25th we've already booked the beach house and everything! Is it safe to take a newborn to the beach? I'm not taking him in the water and I'll have him in complete shade

I took my son last year for the first time at 6 weeks old. It was about 85-90 degrees and we were outside for about 3-4 hours. We used a sportbrella and fans and kept him in shade the whole time. It was about 15 degrees cooler under the umbrella. He just snoozed most of the time and woke up periodically to eat and poop. ☺️

Absolutely! Just keep the baby in the shade while you're out on the beach & in light clothing. We live in Florida, so it's inevitable that we'll be at the beach with our other 2 boys in July & August. ☀️ Beach babies are the sweetest!

Saw this on Facebook, obviously your baby will be much smaller but this helps keeps sand out. It's just a fitted sheet with items weighing it down around the outside.

You may want to look into your area, I did read an article a few weeks ago staing that the beaches out there are going to be closed indefinitely due to water contamination, so you may or may not even be able to sit on the beach? Just a head up.

I have a beach vacation planned for when my baby should be almost 2 months old.  She won't be in the sun or the water. I made sure to book a house on the beach so I can go back up whenever I need to.  You should be fine but keep in mind that it's a huge pain in the ass to change a diaper in the sand and newborns require lots of diaper changes. Just so you know, this is my 3rd so I know what to expect.

It's not unsafe but you may not be feeling up to it. Is it flexible if you opt not to go? You may still be bleeding and exhausted, also the baby can come late. So being flexible will help make the best of it.

I think it's fine especially if the beach house is right on the beach you can always take baby inside for a bit for diaper changes and sun is very good for baby's just watch baby's temp and keep baby cool :)

I also planned a trip with my 8 yr old daughter, we are due june 15th with my 2nd girl husbands first, slated to go july 16 for a week. We are going with a friend and her 3 boys age 5,6,8 and my other friend and her 11 month old. Im very excited as long as baby is healthy. We even registered for a canopy type tent for the beach. Alot of people said it is the best time to go since they don't do much when so young. We also are staying in the master suite away from everyone sk baby doesnt wake everyone else at night
