Teachers' advice needed!
Ok so today was my son's first day at his babysitter's. I haven't gone back to work yet - we were just doing a trial run. When I went to pick him up she told me that she gave him teething tablets and Tylenol (that I did not provide) because he was chewing on his fist and not eating well from his bottle. He is a breastfed baby who occasionally gets bottles of expresses milk - she knew this. He is only three months and this is the first time he's been away from me- she knew this. She did not call before giving him these things. No attempt was made at soothing with teething toys or the like. In addition, she is continually pressuring me to give him ricecereal and has even gone as far as to purchase cereal and Karo syrup for me to give him. I have made it clear he will not be getting cereal. But now that she feels comfortable giving him Tylenol who knows what she would give him. Obviously he won't be going back. My concern is that I live in a very rural area and had to search high and low to find her. There's no daycare that will keep infants unless I want to drive 45 minutes past work. I am supposed to go back to my teaching job April 4 but feel like the best thing for me to do is stay home. How do I approach this with my principal???? Thanks for helping this terrified mama out.
