To early to buy baby stuff?

So I'm 19 weeks. For the past month or so iv been picking up a few things like clothes that I see just to slowly stock up. I made my registry, not with the intention to buy or have others buy stuff immediately, as I love having lists of everything and being very organized. My mum purchased a bouncer from my registry and I want to get the crib as it is currently running a good promotion. My MIL says its rediculous and to early to be buying stuff! What do you think?
