Pads & Tampons: Which one and why?

So, since I have started having periods, I have used pads. Tampons are just uncomfortable to me and I just don't feel interested in using them. My problem is that I always feel judged when I say that I am a pad user. I have had someone at work tell me that she started her period and didn't have anything so I offered her a pad and she turned her nose up and said that pads are disgusting. My opinion is that, as long as it is changed regularly and I keep myself clean, pads are perfect. 
What do you guys prefer and why? And have you ever felt shamed for using a specific method?

It's all about what's comfortable for you. I hate tampons with a burning passion. It feels like a small expanding penis and when you have to pull it out that feeling of it coming out of me makes me want to claw my eyes out. However, my niece swears by them, she hates pads, she jokes and calls them diapers. Always has awesome very thin pads and I swear by them. Nobody should be shamed for protecting themselves and clothes from horrible embarrassment no matter what method is used. Use what you personally like and forget others, it your body, your period, and your decision.

I'm 25 and use pads. Always have. I've tried tampons and do not like them. Tampons are gross. Sticking something up inside you and having it soak up all that blood and then it just sits in there. THATS gross!! Ugh I feel all plugged up and nasty. That stuff is supposed to come out not just sit there inside your body like that. I also feel like I am more conscious of them inside me I feel like I can feel it rubbing and stuff. Just don't care for how they make me feel.  Don't feel ashamed to use pads. My personal opinion is that they are more hygienic than tampons. Everyone has their personal preference and that's mine.

I have such heavy periods that pads are a must for me. I will use tampons on the last day of it though. I also HAVE to sleep with a pad on. Can't sleep with a tampon in and I have friends that do this. I too feel judged sometimes for using pads but hey, I'm comfortable so who cares. 💁🏻 people judge over everything these days.

When I was younger I used pads if I'm just not in the mood for a tampon I'll use a smaller pad, it's really all just preference, people just suck and think there options are better then everyone elses' But hey at least you offered her a pad that makes you great, But she just ruined possibly her favorite pair of underwear.

I started off with pads too but I felt embarrassed my underwear lines and I felt like people could here it moving, I also didn't like sitting in my own blood so I went to talk to my doctor who I also a girl about making the change. And I'm glad I did, at first I was putting them in wrong cause I didn't know how and I was scared about tss but now I really like them and I keep some like everywhere. I accidentally left one or two in the pouch on the back of the car seat in my grandparents car. My mom found them.

I also hate tampons. I switched to cups and I always feel like people stereotype me or think its gross. There's always someone expessing a negative opinion despite the fact that I didn't ask for one >.> I love my cup and it makes me feel clean and comfortable. Wear your pads, girl! No one should make you feel bad with how you choose to deal with such a personal matter. If you know you comfortable and clean then that's all that should matter. Honestly, that person you offered a pad too is really rude and says more about them then it does about you.
