When do I start potty training my 19 month old daughter?

Just curious. I totally forgot to ask her doctor the other day. She's 19 months old and I really want to start pretty soon.

I know this is very young but I started potty training my daughter at 10 months and by her first birthday we were completely out of diapers

Has she woken up after a night of sleep with a dry diaper? They say that is a sign that they are ready. I would start introducing the potty to her now and let her get used to it and ease into it :)

I figured when mine hid to poop it was time. I got him to where he knew he needed to use the potty then spanked him a cpl times for hiding. He was trained very fast.

I have two girls and they stopped using diapers at 18 months :) my mom helped me a lot in teaching them use their potty, and my babies loved getting cute underwear, they were so excited :) they are big girls now 😔 11 and 15 💕 and never needed a diaper after that, not even at nights

I started both my boys at 18months and had them full potty trained after a week. Helped sooo much!

I started my now 5yo at one. It was a mess and a half naked kid running around 24-7. By 1.5 he was using the potty accident free. He only had accidents in the car. By 2 he was done. He would have an occasional accident but he knew where to go and would always try to make it!

I don't agree with wait till they are ready because diapers are easy. If course they will rather go in a diaper. My thoughts were if he only learns to pee/poop on the toilet I won't have to make him unlearn to use a diaper and learn to use a toilet. I never had any push back or sneaky pooping in the corner issues some have with older kids. I also cloth diapered and went straight to undies.

I fully support wait until they are ready but...
1) introduce toilet (or potty) from early on by letting your child see when you go to the toilet. With boys it works well if dad goes with them for a while. 
2) let them experience undies getting wet/soiled. It's not comfortable and will help when you need to explain why they use a toilet/potty
3) don't pressure them or make the toilet scary. (Rewards always work). 
4) once you start toilet training don't stop! No matter how messy it is. Make sure they know there is no other option anymore.

We waited until my son showed signs of interest and it took less than a week to fully train him. Even dry at night. 
I waited because as a preschool teacher I had hundreds of mother give their opinions.

My biggest suggestion is dont push it too hard, if shes not interested yet wait a few weeks and try again. My son is 2.5 and we are training him now. every child is different and will train at their own pace. With my son we let him run naked all day and remind him he needs to pee on the potty, sometimes get him to help clean up his accidents. So far hes doing really well with it

Start now... Keep in mind all kids are different but you can most certainly start introducing them to the potty. My first child was trained by the age of 2 1/2 and my second was trained by 3. Good luck!
