Bleeding at 39 weeks?

Question

I'm 39 weeks, and I'm bleeding a little. It's dark red in color, but it's not gushing or anything like that. No contractions, no obvious water breakage, and the baby is still moving. I called L&D and they told me to wait an hour and call back. What do you guys think? Is this normal? Could this mean the baby is coming soon?

The bleeding has pretty much stopped now. Hoping the baby comes this weekend because it would be so convenient with work (ha ha yeah, right!).

Have you had a cervical check in the last 2 days? And if you are bleeding I would call back after the hour and tell them it's not slowing down. But as another mom said I started bleeding red blood after I got checked and my cervix was so ripe that caused it to bleed and I had my daughter 17 hours after my last check.

And when I say she's moving, she's really moving. Way more active than usual. Does that mean anything?
