Carpal tunnel

Is anyone experiencing carpal tunnel? My doctor said it's because of swelling. It is so painful. Bought some hand braces but not working. Anyone have it? What are you doing to help? Mine is mainly at night when I'm trying to sleep. It wakes me up and I can't go back to bed. I'm only getting about 5 hours of sleep a night because of it.
