Nope. Odds are whatever I name my child there will be another million people in the world with the same name. Names are not exclusive so I never make a big deal about it and frankly people that do make a big deal about it seem silly to me.

I had my children's names chosen since I was 13. No way I would change them just because someone else wanted to use them.

We already set names before we tried to have our baby. I wouldn't change it for anyone. I have two other names for future kids and one girls name too. So no. It's your baby not theirs.

Did the friend say they wanted the name and then you decided you did too? If you're stealing the name that's a bit unfair, if you suggested it first, I would say go for it.
