Breastfeeding with the flu?

I recently caught the flu and am worried about getting my newborn sick. I know you're supposed to keep breastfeeding, but has anyone ever got the flu and still breastfeed exclusively? Did your baby get sick also? What precautions did you take to avoid getting your baby sick besides washing your hands, not coughing or sneezing near baby, etc?

Definitely! I've been sick a lot since having my little one and he has hardly been sick at all. You pass on your antibodies through the milk. Make sure you drink heaps of water - my supply took a hit each time I was sick!

I breastfed exclusively when I had the flu. It knocked me off my pumping schedule, too! My daughter was a little stuffy for a few days, but never got a full blown flu.

it's better for baby to keep breastfeeding because the breast milk can prevent him from getting sick and some people say breastfeeding helps you get better faster
